A successful follicle aspiration needs to be fast, precise and retrieve the maximal amount of undamaged oocytes without complications. It is a critical procedure involving a lot of anxiety for the patient, which also needs to be taken care of.
Reduced needle tip without compromising aspiration time, control and oocyte safety.
Sense has a thin, 20 G, needle tip and a thicker, 17 G, needle body.
The unique design of Sense makes it an ideal needle to work with. It has the control and precision you need with optimal aspiration time. With Sense you keep the benefits of working with a conventional needle and gain the advantages of a thin needle.
The reduced tip gives you the advantages of a small sized needle. As only the tip is reduced, the rigidity and flow are maintained, ensuring accurate guidance while helping to maximise the number of oocytes collected.
A prospective, randomised study by Wikland et al. found that oocyte retrieval performed with the Sense needle resulted in a greater number of patients with less than expected vaginal bleeding compared to a conventional 17 G needle. Further findings were that the use of Sense also resulted in a significantly reduced overall pain experience – 19% lower compared to a conventional needle. Regardless of needle size, there were no statistical differences in aspiration time, oocyte recovery and fertilisation rate.

The new echo marking is achieved through innovative laser etching to give you the high visibility you need during oocyte retrieval.
During the development of the new echo marking, we also further refined the way we grind the needles. The result is an even sharper tip that enables a smooth penetration of the tissue1.
All needle labels are colour coded to simplify identification of needle types.
To meet surgical standards, each needle is individually packaged in a double sterile barrier to avoid contamination.
Optimising aspiration time, maximising control and improving patient comfort.
To safeguard robust product performance, the Vitrolife quality control system covers both the manufacturing process and the aspiration needles. By ensuring consistent high quality, we help you to maximise your success rate.
With the G-series, you get confidence at each step. For example, during handling outside the incubator G-MOPS gives oocytes and embryos the best possible physiological protection.
